One of our goals is to ensure that the Mohawk Valley Mini Maker Faire remains a free event.  We’re committed to this because we see the MVMMF — and the promotion of individual makers and the local maker movement — as a way to contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of the Mohawk Valley.  And this requires that as many people as possible have access to the knowledge, skills, and tools that allow them to create.

Keeping MVMMF free poses challenges.  By not charging for tickets we need to find ways to make MVMMF pay for itself: this means fundraising, whether through grants, sponsorships, commercial maker fees, and donations.

We’ve been fortunate to have wonderful and generous sponsors for the past two events.  Even so, it makes it much easier to secure funding when we can show potential funders how successful MVMMF is.  And one of the key indicators for success is attendance.

In short, by reserving your tickets on Eventbrite, you help us show our funders – both current and future – that MVMMF is an event worth investing in.  So if you want to show your support of individual makers, our local maker movement, and Mohawk Valley Mini Maker Faire, please reserve your tickets and encourage your friends to do the same.
