One question we get is “Am I a maker” or “Am I  ‘good enough’ to exhibit at Maker Faire?”  I understand where that question comes from — after all, there are some amazing makers and creations that get shown off at maker faires around the globe so it can be intimidating to put one’s own work out there for everyone to see.

The maker movement is, however, at its heart a community of amateurs.  It includes DIYers, tinkerers, hobbyists, crafters, and others who create because of their passion and enthusiasm.  And the maker movement’s core ideal is to share, inspire, learn, and teach — it is to democratize the knowledge and skills to create.

So yes, you are a maker and yes, if you share this passion you are exactly who we want to see at the Mohawk Valley Mini Maker Faire.  We hope to see you there!
